A tourist suffered a head injury in a fall on the northeastern slope of Mount Belukha near the Mensu Glacier in the Altai Republic. This was announced on August 5 by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations.

"In the Altai Republic, in the area of the Mensu glacier, on the northeastern slope of Mount Belukha, one of the two tourists fell and injured his head. A 71-year—old resident of Omsk traveled without registering a route with the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations," the department wrote on its Telegram channel.

An Mi-8 helicopter was used for the evacuation. The victim was taken on board, where he was assisted by staff from the Disaster Medicine Center.

The man was taken to the republican hospital.

On June 14, rescuers evacuated an injured tourist from the Borus Ridge in the south of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. It was clarified that the message about the fall of a man from a height of 5 m was received on the afternoon of June 13. According to the agency, he was injured. A group of Emergency Situations Ministry specialists on foot reached the victim in the evening. A man spent the night on a rock with rescuers from the South Siberian Search and Rescue Department.
