Oleg Lopatiev, the head of the Russian Navy's radio engineering service, was sentenced to nine years in prison in a bribery case. This was reported on August 5 in the press service of the Main Military Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

"Lopatiev was found guilty of accepting bribes on an especially large scale while fulfilling a state defense order under Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Receiving a bribe"),— the agency said in a Telegram channel.

It is noted that in 2022-2025. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has signed contracts with JSC Izumrud and PJSC Dalpribor for the supply of technical devices totaling more than 400 million rubles. Lopatiev, being responsible for quality control of the supplied products, received large-scale bribes totaling over 8 million rubles from the heads of these organizations during the specified period of time.

In this case, the court sentenced Lopatiev to nine years in prison to be served in a high-security penal colony, as well as a fine of 16.5 million rubles.

Earlier, on August 4, Sergei Pastukhov, the former deputy head of the Department for the Redistribution of property between public legal entities of the Property Relations Department of the Russian Ministry of Defense, was sentenced to four years in a penal colony for abuse of office. It is specified that from 2018 to 2019, with the help of forged documents, he transferred state property in the form of a land plot in the Leningrad Region, which was owned by other persons. The total damage to the Ministry of Defense amounted to more than 80 million rubles.
