Experts spoke about the increase in salaries of engineers and architects in 2025
Salaries of engineers and architects increased the most in 2025 compared to other positions in the construction industry. In addition, development specialists were the most satisfied with their work among other industries. These are the research data that the Airplane group conducted with the online recruiting platform. hh.ru and the ORO marketing research agency, the results were reviewed by Izvestia on August 7.
According to the data, 80% of those working in development are satisfied with their current place of employment. 85% consider their work prestigious, 86% consider it profitable, and almost all (90%) agree that it is very useful for society compared to other budget—forming industries studied. In addition, almost half (48%) of employees in the field of development are even ready to recommend their current place of work.
As for salaries, the strongest jump occurred in the industry among engineers and technical supervision specialists and amounted to 25% (from 100 thousand to 125 thousand rubles). In second place are architects, who can now count on a salary of 119 thousand rubles instead of 99 thousand rubles (+19%). And VET engineers complete the top three — their salary has risen from 106 thousand to 126 thousand rubles (+18%).
As noted, the highest-paid positions in Russia are still the director of construction with a salary of 200 thousand rubles, the head of the construction site (178.9 thousand rubles) and the real estate sales manager (177 thousand rubles). At the same time, as the survey showed, it is managers who more often overestimate their value, while architects, on the contrary, underestimate it. According to analysts, vocational training and construction control engineers evaluate their skills most accurately.
The maximum salaries for identical positions are fixed in Tatarstan, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Tyumen Region and Primorsky Krai. The capital remains the leader in demand for construction specialists: in the second quarter of 2025 alone, employers posted 5,928 vacancies for engineers and designers, 1,759 for architects, and 1,101 for chief engineers.
Earlier, on July 27, Maria Korelskaya, Director of Organizational Development at GC EXACTLY, said that in the construction industry, personnel shortages have become one of the key risks. The problem has gone beyond HR — today it directly affects the cost of projects, the timing of commissioning facilities and the sustainability of the development business.
