New car sales decreased by 11.4% in July%

By the end of July 2025, 120,649 new passenger cars were sold in Russia, which is 11.4% less than in July 2024. This was reported to Izvestia on August 5 by the analytical agency Autostat.

Lada retains its leadership with an impressive advantage, accounting for about a quarter (23.41%) of the total volume, with 28,240 copies sold.

The most popular foreign brand in July was Chery, with a circulation of 13,502 units. Haval dropped to the third place (13,117 units), followed by Geely and Changan — 8,389 and 7860 units. accordingly. The sixth place was taken by the Belarusian brand Belgee with an indicator of 6511 cars. The top 10 last month included Jetour (4410 units), Solaris (3326 units), GAC (2842 units) and Omoda (2765 units).

Six of the ten leading brands showed negative dynamics in July. Omoda sank the most (-47.8%), while Chery was the least critical (-5.1%). Among the brands that have gone into growth, Belgee has distinguished itself (+75.2%), while Jetour's sales have grown the least (+24.6%).

Lada Granta family cars still take the lead in the model standings - 13,030 units, 28.3% less than a year ago. This is followed by the Lada Vesta family, with a result of 6673 cars (-31.6%).

The best-selling foreign car was the Chinese Haval Jolion crossover, which sold 5,552 cars (-33%) in mid-summer. Behind it is the Chery Tiggo 4 crossover (4482 units). The Belarusian crossover Belgee X50 closes the top 5 (4249 units; +16.5%).

Along with the Belgee X50, sales growth in July was also demonstrated by the Jetour Dashing crossover (2.3 times). The rest of the models included in the top 10 show a decrease, and Haval Jolion has the strongest decrease - minus 33%.

Autostat also said that in the first seven months of 2025, 651,029 new passenger cars were sold in Russia, which is 23.9% less than in January —July last year. Here, the same four brands are "in the black", of which Solaris has "shot up" the most (an increase of 2.4 times). Omoda is doing the worst again (-47.1%).

Earlier, Sergey Tselikov, General Director of Autostat, said that Lada Vesta became the most popular new car in the Republic of Dagestan in the first half of 2025. Its circulation was 2,109 units, and the market share was 35.9%. In the Chechen Republic, the Toyota Camry turned out to be the bestseller of the market with a result of 616 cars sold and a share of 20.7%.

In most regions of Russia, Lada Granta is the leader of the car market this year, but there are exceptions besides Chechnya and Dagestan. In the Kaliningrad region, the best-selling new car was the Kaiyi X3 Pro (183 units; 5.7%). On Sakhalin, there is UAZ Patriot (27 units; 6.5%). At the same time, in the Novosibirsk and Irkutsk regions, Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Max was most often bought new at car dealerships (547 units and 210 units, respectively).
