In the Irkutsk region, a 41-year-old man drowned while rescuing his son who had fallen into the water. The Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case.

The incident occurred on August 3 at a recreation center on the shore of the Ust-Ilimsky reservoir. A man and a 13-year-old boy rented a catamaran, but they did not have life jackets. The teenager fell into the water. Since the boy did not know how to confidently stay on the water, the father jumped into the water and pushed his son onto the catamaran. A criminal case has been initiated into the provision of services that do not meet safety requirements. Investigators are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.

In Yessentuki, a 44-year-old woman drowned while swimming in an unequipped place. An acquaintance tried to pull the victim ashore, but it was not possible to save her. The police are conducting a check.
