The Kremlin did not rule out a meeting between Putin and Witkoff in Moscow
The possibility of a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump's special envoy Steven Witkoff is not ruled out. This was announced on August 4 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
"We do not exclude the possibility of holding such a meeting. The dialogue continues. The United States continues its efforts to mediate in the search for a Ukrainian settlement. These efforts are very important," he said at a briefing.
The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation stressed that the bilateral dialogue continues. He clarified that the United States also continues to make efforts to mediate in the search for ways to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
Peskov called the relevant efforts very important, including in the context of the Russian-Ukrainian negotiations.
Earlier, on August 3, the US president announced Witkoff's visit to Moscow on Wednesday, August 6, or Thursday, August 7.
