In the Krasnodar Territory, 70 house territories and 34 houses were flooded due to heavy rains. This was announced on August 3 in the press service of the Main Directorate (GU) of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the region.
"70 house territories and 34 houses in the villages of Defanovka, Moldavanovka and Novomikhailovsky were flooded," the department wrote on its Telegram channel.
It is noted that two temporary accommodation facilities for 100 people are ready in the region. 48 specialists of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and six units of special equipment were sent to the flood sites. In total, more than 150 people and 44 pieces of equipment were involved in the elimination of the consequences of flooding.
Natalia, a local resident who suffered from the disaster, told Izvestia that she would not have been able to get out of the house without the help of rescuers.
"We were helped by the staff of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in a fire truck, they took us out on a rope. <...> The water flow was strong, we would not have evacuated on our own," the woman explained.
According to Natalia, a thunderstorm raged outside her window at night, and towards morning tornadoes struck the village. Now the woman and her children are in a temporary accommodation facility organized at a school in the village of Novomikhailovsky.
Earlier in the day, a storm warning was issued in Kuban due to heavy rainfall. It was clarified that by the end of the day, as well as in the morning and afternoon of August 4, water is expected to rise on rivers and watercourses in the southwestern part of the Krasnodar Territory and the Black Sea coast from Anapa to Magri.
Later, amid flooding in the village of Defanovka in the Kuban, a bus with passengers fell from a bridge into the river. We managed to save all 25 people.
