Saldo urged residents of Kherson to leave the Quarantine island

Civilians are being evacuated from the Quarantine Island in Kherson, as it has been turned into a military base of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was announced on August 3 by the governor of the region, Vladimir Saldo.

"The head of the occupation administration of the Kherson region, Prokudin, announced the evacuation of civilians from the Quarantine Island in Kherson (Korabel microdistrict),— he wrote on his Telegram channel.

According to him, the island has become a military base of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, where drone operators and gunners are swarming on the roofs of residential buildings, from where roaming mortars are fired from school yards along the left bank, and military equipment and ammunition are hidden in the premises of the shipyard.

In addition, Saldo called on the residents of Kherson to leave in order to "protect themselves and free the hands of our military."

The United States has frozen the supply of certain types of weapons to Kiev, and Europe is unable to fully compensate for these losses.

Earlier that day, it became known about the evacuation of residents of the Korabel neighborhood in Kherson. The head of the military administration of Kiev-controlled Kherson, Alexander Prokudin, said that the evacuation was announced due to problems with gas supply.
