Five people were killed in a fire in a five-story apartment building in the Chinese city of Wuzhou, located in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in the south of the country. This was reported by the Xinghua News Agency on August 3.

"Five people died as a result of a fire that broke out in a residential building in the city of Wuzhou," the publication says.

According to the regional emergency management department, the fire occurred on the ground floor at about 08:30 local time (03:30 Moscow time). To date, the fire has been joked about, and the causes of the incident are being investigated.

Earlier, on July 14, nine people died in a fire at a nursing home in Massachusetts (USA). According to the Associated Press, another 30 people were injured and taken to the hospital. In total, about 70 people lived in the house.
