Nuclear-powered ship "Prince Pozharsky" went on combat duty
The strategic missile submarine "Prince Pozharsky" has arrived at its permanent base in the Gadzhievo Northern Fleet. This was announced on August 2 by the press service of the fleet.
Congratulating the ship's crew on their arrival at their permanent base, Vice Admiral Anatoly Kovalenko, Commander of the Northern Fleet's submarine forces, said that the Prince Pozharsky submarine would become part of the strategic submarine group, which is "the backbone of the naval strategic nuclear forces."
According to the report of the cruiser's commander, Captain of the second rank Andrey Shleikher, the crew completed the tasks of the interbase crossing in full, the ship's equipment is in good working order, the personnel are healthy and ready to complete their tasks.
At the pier, the submariners were met by representatives of the command of the Red Banner Submarine Forces of the Northern Fleet, the closed administrative-territorial entity of Alexandrovsk, and relatives of the sailors.
On July 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin took part in a flag-raising ceremony on the nuclear-powered submarine Knyaz Pozharsky in Severodvinsk. The President specified that the Prince Pozharsky is equipped with effective electronic equipment and shock weapons, including Bulava ballistic missiles.
