Former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and former President of the United States Barack Obama must bear serious consequences for the scandal over Russia's alleged interference in the 2016 White House presidential election. This was announced on August 1 by the American leader Donald Trump.

"I think they have to pay the price. By the way, it's a very high price," Trump said in an interview with Newsmax.

The American leader also called the incident one of the great scandals in the history of the United States. On the same day, Trump added that this should never happen again in the United States.

Kirill Dmitriev, CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), on July 23 called the alleged interference of the Russian Federation in the US elections false and stressed that the American media did not intend to modernize the media system.

American political scientist Garland Nixon, in turn, said that Trump accused the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama, of political fraud and the creation of the "Rashagate" scandal about alleged Russian interference in the American elections due to dissatisfaction with unresolved problems of American politics. The political scientist called the scandal a well-planned large-scale operation.
