- The creators of "Prince Vladimir" explained the replacement of Nikolai Rastorguev with his son
Pavel, the son of the leader of the Lube group Nikolai Rastorguev, will replace his father and play the role of voivode Fyodor in the ethno-opera Prince Vladimir. A message about this appeared on August 1 in the opera's Telegram channel.
People's Artist and composer Igor Matvienko said that the replacement is due to the busy touring schedule of the Lube group, which celebrates its 35th anniversary this year and holds a large number of concerts. According to Matvienko, Pavel Rastorguev is the best candidate for the role of Prince Vladimir's associate, both visually and in terms of the timbre of his voice. So, during one of the rehearsals Pavel performed a fragment of the Lyube song "And the river flows".
In addition, the ethno-opera "Prince Vladimir" will go on tour in Russia in the fall. The premiere screenings will take place on October 19 in Samara, on October 21 in Nizhny Novgorod and on October 23 in Kazan.
The premiere of the ethno-opera "Prince Vladimir" took place on February 5 at the Kremlin Palace in Moscow. The plot of the production is based on the path of Prince Vladimir, described in The Tale of Bygone Years, and includes elements of fiction with characters from Scandinavian mythology. Igor Matvienko said that he had been working on the ethno-opera for 13 years, collecting melodies with a thousand-year history. The production uses various languages, from Scandinavian to Greek, and also features a Russian hit song in Icelandic.
