Moscow temporarily turned into the culinary capital of the world, hosting teams of the best chefs from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), who came to exchange experiences with Russian restaurateurs.

The chef of the Michelin restaurant in Dubai, Ionel Katau, in collaboration with the Moscow chef Mikhail Gerashchenko, created a four-handed dinner. The menu includes national dishes of the United Arab Emirates, Russian cuisine, as well as author's hits, for example, crostata with tomatoes.

"This is an open pie, inside it will be filled with feta cream, seasonal tomatoes of different colors and fennel jam," Gerashchenko explained to Izvestia correspondent Alexandra Mostova.

According to the chef from Dubai, Russian cuisine has something in common with Emirati cuisine. In the UAE, they also love seasonings and spices that add piquancy and sharpness to the taste. And an Arab pie with dates, for example, tastes like Tula gingerbread, noted Katau.

"There is a very strong influence on the Moscow gastronomy of Middle Eastern food. They work more on spices, on some product balances, desserts are sweeter, they like to work on desserts with honey and maple syrup," Gerashchenko added.

The gastronomic tour will continue in the capital for the next two months. The organizers of the project brought 10 restaurants from Dubai, realizing an ambitious idea that expands culinary and tourist horizons.

"We have both a gastronomic mission and a tourist mission. This is an exchange of experience, acquaintances, new techniques, new products. We decided to bring the initial project from Dubai to Moscow, then we want to take Moscow to Dubai, Shanghai, Hong Kong, to do such cross–tours," said Alexander Sysoev, founder of the Greatlist guide.

Also, from August 14 to 17, the tenth anniversary festival "India Day" will be held in the Russian capital. There are more than 25 themed zones waiting for visitors. Seminars on yoga and Ayurveda will be held for the guests of the festival, and traditional Indian dishes will be prepared at culinary workshops. A wealth of national dishes will be presented in 40 restaurant areas.
