Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced the convening of an emergency meeting of the National Security Council in connection with the detention of former Minister of Internal and Foreign Trade Tomislav Momirovic. The Serbian newspaper Vechernye Novosti writes about this on August 1.

The meeting is scheduled for Saturday, August 2. According to media reports, a "massive coup attempt" has been uncovered in the country, involving employees of the Special Prosecutor's Office for Combating Organized Crime and individual police units.
