The European Union (EU), as it currently exists, has come to an end because it has stopped expressing the interests of Europeans. This was announced on July 31 by Alice Weidel, co-chairman of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party.

"The EU must be restored to its original level, to the level of the common internal market, because this whole Brussels superstructure has impoverished all of us," she said in an interview with Patrióta posted on YouTube.

The politician claims that because of the common currency for the countries of the alliance, Germans began to live much worse than before, while the "Brussels Democrats", to whom she referred the head of the European Commission (EC) Ursula von der Leyen, receive high wages. Weidel also called for them to be fired so they could feel "what real work is."

She stated that the German government is no longer pursuing a policy in the interests of its people and continues to spend money on supplying weapons to Ukraine, a conflict with which, according to Weidel, is a threat to her country's security.

On July 26, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban also called for a restructuring of the EU structure. He stated that the alliance is currently making every effort to reduce the rights and powers of its member countries.
