The expert pointed out the importance of Chasov Yar's release for further operations of the Russian Armed Forces.

The liberation of the village of Chasov Yar in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) creates new prospects for the Russian Armed Forces in the region. This was stated on July 31 in an interview with Izvestia by a former special forces officer, retired Colonel Anatoly Matviychuk.

"Chasov Yar is a city that is very close to Artemovsk. When we took Artemovsk, the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, screamed to the whole world that no one would go anywhere else. Today, our troops have breached the defenses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and are in Chasyara," the military expert said.

Matviychuk drew attention to the fact that Ukraine has suffered three significant defeats: image, political and military. According to him, the Russian army successfully defeated one of the most combat-ready enemy groups in the Yuzhnodonets direction, which led to losses of several thousand people who were surrounded.

"The fall of the Yara Clock opens the way to the Kramatorsk anglomeration. We are going directly to the Kramatorsk-Druzhkovsky direction, which allows us to fully carry out a strategic operation to destroy the southern group of enemy forces in this direction," the former special forces officer emphasized.

He also commented on the possible actions of the Ukrainian forces after the loss of control over Chasovoy Yar. In his opinion, the Ukrainian Armed Forces may try to intensify terrorist activities against Russian civilians, as well as organize counterattacks in the Sumy and Kursk directions.

On the same day, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that Russian army soldiers had liberated the village of Chasov Yar in the DPR. This was the result of the offensive actions of the Southern Group of Forces in the Kramatorsk-Druzhkovsky direction.
