The trade agreement between Seoul and Washington removed the uncertainty affecting exports. This was announced by South Korean President Lee Jae-myung on July 31.

"During these negotiations, the government eliminated uncertainty in the export environment and set US tariffs lower or at the same level as those of the main US export competitors," the president wrote on his Facebook page.

Lee Jae-myung clarified that taking into account the tight deadlines and the associated difficulties, the government carried out the negotiation process, guided by national interests as the main priority.

The President also added that since the parties with different positions are involved in the negotiations, this is not an easy process. The main thing is not to achieve benefits only for yourself, but to find a solution that suits everyone.

Earlier in the day, US President Donald Trump announced that the United States had concluded a large-scale trade deal with South Korea. As part of the agreements reached, South Korea undertakes to invest $350 billion in assets controlled by the United States.
