Seven earthquakes were recorded in Kamchatka within an hour, the magnitude of the two strongest was 6.0. This was announced on July 30 in the Telegram channel of the Kamchatka branch of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences (FITSGS RAS).

According to the service, the first 6.0 magnitude earthquake occurred 402 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. The source was located at a depth of 33 km. The second tremor, registered less than an hour later, was located 402 km from the city, its source was at a depth of 77 km.

Information about the aftershocks has not yet been received. Experts continue to monitor seismic activity in the region.

Earlier that day, a powerful earthquake of magnitude 8.7 occurred in the Kamchatka Territory. A tsunami threat was declared on the coast of the Avacha Bay. Emergency regimes were declared in the North Kuril region of the Sakhalin Region and in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

Later, another 6.5 magnitude earthquake was recorded. The seismic event occurred 178 km from Severo-Kurilsk.
