Cosmetologist named the reasons for the appearance of enlarged pores
Enlarged pores on the face are a common problem that many people face. Anna Shednaya, cosmetologist and founder of the Academy of Massage and Cosmetology, told Izvestia on July 31 about why they appear and how to properly care for the skin.
"The pores can't open or close, it's a myth. They are only stretched due to various factors. A number of reasons lead to the expansion of pores. First of all, this is a genetic predisposition: people with an oily skin type have a more pronounced problem. Hormonal changes also have a significant impact, especially during adolescence, during pregnancy or when taking contraceptives," explains the specialist.
According to her, improper skin care plays an important role: aggressive cleansing, lack of hydration, or acid abuse can make the situation worse. With age, the problem may worsen due to a natural decrease in the production of collagen and elastin, which leads to a loss of skin elasticity.
In addition, ultraviolet radiation has a negative effect, which thickens the skin and contributes to pore deformation. Also, frequent washing does not solve the problem, but rather exacerbates it, drying out the skin and increasing sebum production.
"It is important to use mild cleansers without aggressive ingredients, do not forget about moisturizing and be sure to apply sunscreen with SPF 30-50. It is also useful to monitor nutrition, reduce stress, and regularly consult with a cosmetologist to select individual care," concluded Shednaya.
Earlier, on April 16, Natalia Mikhailova, a cosmetologist and creator of the MESALTERA by Dr. Mikhaylova brand of professional cosmeceuticals, told Izvestia that mild cleansers should be used in the warm season — foams, gels or mousses with the addition of acids or enzymes.
