Latvian basketball player Bertans refused to participate in the VTB United League Super Cup

Davis Bertans, the Latvian center of the Dubai Basketball Club, refused to participate in the VTB United League Super Cup for political reasons. The athlete stated this in an interview with j auns.lv .

"I talked to both the Dubai coach and the general manager and expressed my opinion to them," Bertans said.

The basketball player stressed that the coach, the general manager, as well as the team fully supported his decision.

The VTB United League Super Cup will be held in Belgrade on September 24-25. The championship will be held in the "Final Four" format. The CSKA, Zenit, Crvena Zvezda and Dubai clubs will take part in the tournament.
