The kindergarten, whose wall collapsed as a result of the earthquake in Kamchatka, was closed for scheduled repairs, so there were no children in the building at the time of the incident. On July 30, Izvestia published footage of a damaged building in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

"One of the kindergartens in Petropavlovsk (Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky) did not pass the earthquake test. - Ed.) built in 1981. There were no children there at the time of the incident. The kindergarten was closed for routine repairs," Ekaterina Zenina, a correspondent for Izvestia, said.

It is specified that the fate of the building will be decided later, and from August 1, all pupils of the damaged institution will be redistributed to other kindergartens. In addition, it is noted that from 13:00 local time (04:00 Moscow time), a non-working day was declared in the region.

The Governor of the Kamchatka Territory, Vladimir Solodov, announced on July 30 that the wall of kindergarten No. 15 in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky collapsed due to a strong earthquake. He described this seismic event as one of the strongest.
