- The US State Department announced that it was taking into account all the consequences of the imposition of sanctions against the Russian Federation.
The United States has taken into account all possible negative consequences from the introduction of secondary sanctions against Russia and its trading partners. This was announced to reporters on July 29 at a briefing by the official representative of the US State Department, Tammy Bruce.
"I would proceed from the fact that we should all act in such a way that all forms of influence would be taken into account. The President [of the United States Donald Trump] does not make decisions on the fly. Obviously, this issue has been considered from the very beginning, and we are ready to do everything necessary," she said on the agency's website.
This is how Bruce answered the question of whether the Trump administration is concerned about the possible boomerang effect of imposing secondary sanctions on Russia and its trading partners, including China and India. She believes that Trump "has been patient" dealing with the Ukrainian conflict.
Trump said on July 29 that he was not concerned about the reaction of the commodity market to the potential imposition of anti-Russian sanctions. He also noted that oil is already "quite cheap" and the United States should increase its production.
