Opera singer Maksakova was put on the international wanted list
Opera singer Maria Maksakova (recognized as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation) was put on the international criminal wanted list in a case related to calls for activities against Russia and evading the duties of a foreign agent. This was reported on July 29 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.
"She has been put on the international wanted list," the state prosecutor read out.
The opera singer left Russia in May 2022, and a year later the Ministry of Justice recognized her as a foreign agent due to calls for the overthrow of the current Russian government and the transfer of weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Earlier, on July 1, the press service of the Presnensky Court of Moscow announced the receipt of a criminal case related to Maksakova for consideration in absentia. It was initiated in accordance with Article 280.4 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Public calls for activities directed against the security of the state").
