Work on dismantling rubble after house collapse has been completed in Astrakhan
The rubble at the site of the collapse of a residential apartment building in Astrakhan has been completely cleared. This was announced on Tuesday, July 29, by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia.
"At the site of the collapse [of the house] on Lyakhova Street, 6, the work on clearing the rubble has been completed," said Yuri Zemlyansky, head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Astrakhan region, in a video posted on the Telegram channel of the federal agency.
In addition, Zemlyansky clarified that there were no dead or injured at the site of the collapse of the house.
The collapse of the entrance of an apartment building in Astrakhan became known on July 28, the causes were not reported. The collapse was recorded in a part of the apartments from the fifth to the first floor. According to the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, three people were injured. An operational headquarters was established after the incident. A criminal case has been opened into the collapse. Later, a municipal-level emergency regime was introduced.
Local resident Sergey Maslov, in an interview with Izvestia, reported that on July 28, a crack appeared in the wall of one of the apartments of a multi-storey building in Astrakhan, part of which collapsed. He clarified that he woke up in the morning from a crackling sound. According to him, the ceiling was falling down, and a gap appeared in the wall.
