The convicted wife of businessman Tamirov was transferred to Siberia
The common-law wife of the late billionaire Mikhail Tamirov, Lilia Nevsky, was found guilty of embezzling 133 million rubles donated to her by the businessman himself, and was transferred to Novosibirsk.
According to Andrei Bezryadov, a lawyer for 40-year-old Nevsky, this decision to send his client "thousands of kilometers away from family, friends and protection" may have a negative impact on the course of the entire case.
"This complicates the work due to the fact that we are unable to discuss any issues together. When Lilia Alexandrovna was in pre-trial detention center No. 6, I visited her every week. And we had the opportunity to discuss our position together," he told Izvestia correspondent Pavel Ponomarev on July 28.
It is noted that the relatives of the accused consider the relevant court decision to be a "planned action", as they usually stage especially dangerous criminals and repeat offenders. In addition, the hearings, which were held both in civil and criminal proceedings, were attended mainly by witnesses brought in by Tamirov's heirs, the billionaire's security guards and drivers, who may now also depend on the family they worked for.
Nevsky's mother, Rozia Babayeva, pointed out the court's bias towards her daughter's case, which, according to Ponomarev, can be called unique, since it was conducted simultaneously in both civil and criminal proceedings. The woman hopes that her daughter will be able to return to the capital in order to prove her innocence and restore her honest name.
The defense claims that it was Nevsky who lived with Tamirov for eight years, and also became a "dear person" for him in the last years of his life. In addition, the woman brought documents to one of the hearings, which indicate that it was she, and not the deceased's wife Irina Tamirova, who initiated the case, who took care of the businessman and even lay with him in the hospital.
At the end of December 2024, the Gagarin Court of Moscow announced its intention to re-examine Tamirova's claim against Nevsky. Bezryadov said that the businessman's relatives tried to challenge the transfer of 133 million rubles to Nevsky, accusing the common-law wife of the first vice-president of the Spassky Vorota insurance group of allegedly taking advantage of Tamirov's "helpless condition."
