The TOS-2 Tosochka crew destroyed the strongholds and manpower of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Military personnel of the radiation, chemical and biological protection forces of the Zapad group of forces destroyed strongholds and shelters with manpower of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) using the TOS-2 Tosochka heavy flamethrower system. This was announced on July 28 by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

It is specified that TOS-2 crews operate in combat formations of supported troops from open and closed positions. Reconnaissance using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) detected an accumulation of enemy manpower in fortified positions that were located in the path of the movement of units of the Zapad group of forces. The scouts transmitted the coordinates to the Tosochka crew. After receiving the task, the crew promptly went to the firing position and inflicted a series of blows with thermobaric shells on the enemy.

Most often, TOS-2 fighters work at night for security purposes and to create a surprise effect for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"We're on our way... To begin with, we spend (something there) in the area to find a firing position in order to strike from there. <...> We calculate the time, preferably at night," said the commander of the group with the call sign August.

The advantages of the TOS-2 are its strong effectiveness in hitting targets and greater automation, unlike the TOS-1A.

"Its effectiveness lies in the fact that we hit the means with the help of thermobaric fire weapons. The effectiveness is very serious and good. With the help of projectiles, we cover both with area and aiming, and destroy enemy manpower, fractional structures. <...> A well—thought-out machine that keeps up with the times," said the commander of the TOS-2 with the call sign Conor.

Earlier that day, Hyacinth-B gunners destroyed the AFU UAV control center in the Kherson region. Being clarified. that the aerial reconnaissance unit had identified the location of the AFU UAV control point. The coordinates of its location were promptly transferred to the calculation of the Hyacinth-B cannon. The servicemen, having received the command, destroyed the control point of the UAV with the subsequent detonation of ammunition.
