On July 27, Russian sabre player Yana Yegoryan won the gold medal at the World Fencing Championships in Tbilisi.

The athlete beat the participant from Poland, Susanna Ceslar. The match ended with a score of 15:11.

For Yegoryan, the medal was the seventh at the World Championships, adds Sport-Express. Also, the sabre player became the world champion in the individual tournament for the first time.

The World Fencing Championships are held from 22 to 30 July. The Russians compete in the tournament in a neutral status.

On July 26, Russian skewers took second place in the team tournament at the World Fencing Championships in Tbilisi. In the final, the Russian national team, consisting of Yana Bekmurzova, Kristina Yasinskaya, Aizanat Murtazayeva and Milene Bavuge Habimana lost to the French national team with a score of 32:41.
