- The head of the IOC announced her readiness to allow Russian athletes to participate in the 2026 Olympics.
The head of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Kirsty Coventry, said on July 27 that the organization would follow the criteria established for the 2024 Olympics when it comes to admitting Russians to the 2026 Olympics.
"We have not made a final decision. I'm not going to predict the decisions of the executive commission in September and December, but I think we will probably make the same decision as in the case of Paris," TASS quoted Coventry as saying in an interview with the French magazine L'Equipe.
