A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. The Zapad group of forces improved the situation along the front line and defeated Ukrainian armed formations in the areas of Drobyshevo, Karpovka, Shandrigolovo in the DPR and Kupyansk in the Kharkiv region. As a result of the actions of the servicemen, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) lost more than 225 militants, a tank, an armored combat vehicle, eight vehicles, two artillery pieces, two electronic warfare stations and an AN/TPQ-36 counter-battery warfare station.
"The units of the Center group of forces have improved their tactical situation. <...> The losses of the Ukrainian armed forces amounted to more than 425 servicemen, two armored combat vehicles, four vehicles and three artillery pieces," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.
The Russian army, with the help of aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), missiles and artillery, also defeated drone production workshops, control points, temporary deployment points of Ukrainian formations and foreign mercenaries in 146 districts. Air defense systems, in turn, shot down two guided aerial bombs, three Czech-made Vampire multiple rocket launchers, and 291 aircraft-type drones.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of the special operation, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost 664 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 72,950 UAVs, 624 anti-aircraft missile systems, 24,348 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,581 multiple rocket launchers, 27,874 field artillery and mortars, 38,764 pieces of special vehicles.
