The Algerian Foreign Ministry summoned its ambassador from Paris in response to France's restrictions on the delivery and return of diplomatic mail. This was reported by the Algerie360 portal with reference to the official statement of the department.

"The Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has again summoned the Charge d'affaires of the French Embassy in Algeria. At the center of the discussions is the persistence of the obstacles faced by the Algerian Embassy in Paris in connection with the delivery and return of diplomatic mail," the publication says.

As the portal noted, this restriction violates the international obligations of the French government.

Earlier, on March 28, it became known that the Algerian parliament is developing a bill that will consolidate the recognition of France's crimes during the colonial period, if adopted, the country will officially require Paris to pay compensation for the damage caused. According to the bill, France will also be required to admit its crimes and officially apologize.
