On July 27, Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated military personnel on the Day of the Russian Navy.

"Today we honor all generations of brave, dedicated sailors and officers. We remember all those who, in different years and epochs, created the glory and power of the Russian navy, who, through military achievements and triumphs, through daily hard work and brilliant scientific achievements, established Russia as a great maritime power," the president said.

He added that the Russian navy has been the pride of the country since the time of Emperor Peter the Great. Representatives of the military marine class enjoy honor and respect among the people.

"Your fortitude and bravery, knowledge and honesty, directness and brotherhood have been brought up in conditions of dangerous, harsh naval service, its special culture, the main meaning of which is sincere, cordial, unshakable love for the Motherland," the head of state continued.

Putin noted that such qualities are passed down from generation to generation. Currently, the Navy plays a crucial role in ensuring Russia's defense and security and protecting its interests in the oceans.

"The naval component of Russia's nuclear triad is also gaining strength. It is based on a group of nuclear submarines, which is steadily increasing its potential. The construction of the Prince Pozharsky cruiser has been completed. Two Borei—A submarines and six Yasen-M multipurpose nuclear submarines are at various stages of construction," he recalled.

In addition, the President stressed that a new Development Strategy for the Russian Navy had been approved in 2025. For the first time in history, it is designed for such a long period — until 2050. This is a testament to Russia's confidence in its own strengths and capabilities.

"The key quality of our updated fleet will be the ability to quickly adapt to any changes in the strategic situation, take into account all current trends and forecasts, including prospects for the development of international cooperation based on the principles of genuine equality and mutual respect for each other's interests," the head of state said.

On Friday, July 25, Putin held a meeting of the Russian Federation's Security Council, where he proposed discussing the effectiveness of Russia's maritime policy. He also clarified that the second issue concerns ensuring public safety on a Single voting Day on September 14, 2025.

On July 24, Putin said that Russia would ensure its security in all areas of the world's oceans. He expressed his intention to fully implement the planned plans for the creation of a modern Navy. Putin also noted that more than 70 ships are in various stages of readiness at Russian shipyards.
