The WSJ poll showed a significant drop in the popularity of the Democratic Party
The rating of the US Democratic Party has fallen to a 35-year low. This result was shown by a poll conducted by The Wall Street Journal newspaper. The results of the study were published on Friday, July 25.
"A new poll has revealed that 63% of voters have a negative attitude towards the Democratic Party," the publication says.
Of these, 41% preferred the answer "very disapproving." This is the lowest indicator of the party's popularity among voters in the last 35 years. According to the survey results, only 33% of respondents now approve of the Democratic Party.
The survey results disappointed the expectations of the Democrats, who expected the party's popularity to grow amid public discontent with the decisions of US President Donald Trump, the Republican leader. The Democrats hoped to regain their former influence following the midterm elections to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2026. However, as the WSJ has shown, the rise in popularity has not happened.
Earlier, on July 16, Hunter, the son of former US President Joe Biden, said that the Democrats lost the November election to Trump because they were not loyal to his father.
Before that, on May 28, Vladimir Mozhegov, an American political scientist, spoke about the causes of the crisis of the Democratic Party. In his opinion, the party is in complete disarray, and the nomination of Biden as a presidential candidate was the most unfortunate choice, which at the same time "suited everyone."
