In Cambodia, five soldiers and eight civilians were killed in a Thai attack. This was reported on July 26 by the local newspaper Kmeg Times (KT).

"The Ministry of National Defense has confirmed that 13 Cambodian citizens, including five members of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF) and eight civilians, were killed in a deadly cross-border attack by Thai armed forces early this morning in Pawsat province," the publication said.

The ministry added that due to the escalation of the conflict, the Cambodian authorities evacuated more than 35,000 people from the provinces of Preah Viheah, Oddarmeantjay and Pawsat.

It is also reported that due to the use of heavy artillery by Thailand in the area of the village of Ekphap, 21 soldiers and at least 50 civilians were injured in various degrees of severity.

On July 25, Reuters reported that the escalation of the conflict between Thailand and Cambodia could lead to the outbreak of war. New clashes between the sides were also reported. As a result of the mutual attacks, 15 people were killed. On the same day, Cambodia called for an immediate ceasefire during a closed-door meeting of the UN Security Council, convened in connection with the escalating border conflict between Cambodia and Thailand.

On July 24, an armed clash took place on the disputed border between Thailand and Cambodia. It is noted that the military of both sides accused each other of firing the first shots.
