Almost 2.6 thousand residents of Transbaikalia suffered from tick bites
More than 2.57 thousand cases of tick bites have been registered in the Trans-Baikal Territory since the beginning of the season. This is reported by ChitaMedia news agency with reference to the regional department of Rospotrebnadzor.
771 children were among the injured. 22 patients were diagnosed with encephalitis, and 35 more were infected with tick-borne borreliosis.
The laboratory received more than 2.5 thousand tick specimens for research. It was found that 24.8% of the pests are infected with borreliosis, 5.4% with ehrlichiosis, and 1.5% with encephalitis. More than 38.7 thousand residents of Transbaikalia have been vaccinated against tick-borne encephalitis.
In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, 26 people have been diagnosed with tick-borne infections over the past week. Experts note a decrease in pest activity.
