Multinational NATO exercises have started in Georgia
Multinational NATO exercises Agile Spirit 2025 have begun in Georgia, the opening ceremony was held at the military base in Krtsanisi. This was announced on July 25 by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic.
"The purpose of the exercises is to increase the level of readiness, interoperability and operational capabilities of the armed forces of the participating countries," the ministry's website says.
The maneuvers are taking place jointly in Georgia and Turkey, where they began on July 21 with the American-Turkish amphibious operation. The military of Georgia, the USA, Turkey, Poland, Germany, Italy, Greece, Moldova, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Lithuania and Ukraine are involved in the exercises.
It is specified that American combat vehicles and military helicopters were deployed to Georgia for the exercises. The maneuvers are led by Koba Grigoriya, Commander of the Western Defense Forces of Georgia, and William Cox, a representative of the National Guard of the U.S. State of Georgia.
Earlier, on June 27, the NATO Dynamic Messenger exercises ended in Finland. Their goal was to work out joint tactics in the air of the air forces of Finland, the United States, France and Great Britain. More than 40 aircraft took part in the maneuvers, including the NATO RQ-4D Phoenix reconnaissance drones that arrived in the country for the first time.
