Matvienko called for the support of domestic producers using the example of Labubu

Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko on Friday, July 25, at a meeting of the upper house of parliament called for support for domestic producers of the creative industry.

"Now a businessman from China has developed a doll — I think it's called a Laboo. The freak! It's impossible to watch! But the whole world is sick of this doll, everyone wears this doll on their bags — it's fashionable, it's stylish <...>. A person has earned tens of billions on these products all over the world," she said.

Matvienko stressed that it is necessary to develop not only traditional artistic creativity, but also to introduce advanced ideas that could become popular both in Russia and abroad.

Why did these products get into the spotlight and what requirements should they meet?

Soyuzmultfilm filed an application for registration of the Chebubu trademark on June 30. By analogy with the plush designer toys "Labubu", the new trademark became known as "Chebubu". The application for registration was submitted on June 27. Cosmetics, children's goods, musical instruments, stationery and much more can be produced under it.
