Thailand deports drug sales organizer to Russia

Thailand deports the internationally wanted organizer of the criminal community Igor Vygovsky. This was announced on July 25 by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation.

"At the initiative of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation, the competent authorities of the Kingdom of Thailand are deporting Russian citizen Igor Vygovsky, accused under Part 1 of Article 210 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Organization of a criminal community"), Part 3 of Article 30, Part 4, 5 of Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Attempted illegal sale of narcotic drugs on a large and especially large scale")," the publication says on the agency's website.

According to the investigation, from December 2021 to May 2022, the defendant, being the organizer of the criminal community, led the structural units and drug couriers. He also created an online store that functioned in a messenger with a special chatbot.

In October 2023 and February 2024, eight members of the criminal community were sentenced to six to eight years in prison in a high-security penal colony with a restriction of liberty for 1 year and 6 months.

According to the publication, after identifying the criminal community, Vygovsky disappeared. He was arrested in absentia and put on the international wanted list in April 2025. Later, in May 2025, information appeared about his detention in connection with a violation of Thai migration laws.

"At the initiative of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation, thanks to the coordination of the actions of Russian law enforcement agencies, it was possible to achieve his deportation," the department noted.

Some of the defendants managed to escape after the jury acquitted them.

Earlier, on April 30, a Russian man was extradited from Cambodia, accused of attempting to illegally sell narcotic drugs. He was put on the international wanted list and detained in the kingdom for the purchase in 2019, together with an accomplice, of a substance that contained a derivative of the synthetic drug N-methylephedrone.
