Perm has developed fragrances inspired by the prehistoric past. The project was implemented by the Museum of Permian Antiquities together with perfumer Ekaterina Ovchinnikova. You can feel the smell of the distant past on a guided tour of the museum.

According to the guide Anna Gagarina, quoted by the news agency " <url>", olfactory memory allows you to build associations with a place or a moment. The museum decided to find out if it is possible to understand what it smells like that a modern person has not found. For example, an ancient forest that is 360 million years old, or a time when huge elephants walked the Earth.

The Museum of Permian Antiquities is not the first institution in the city that develops perfumes. So, in 2016, the Perm Opera and Ballet Theater developed the fragrance "Theodor" in honor of the conductor and musician Theodor Currentzis. Moreover, he personally took part in the creation of the perfume.

Earlier, Roman Oparin, associate professor of the Department of General Biology and Bioecology at the State University of Education, warned that incorrectly selected perfumes in hot weather can turn into a source of unpleasant odors instead of the expected fresh plume. In the heat, the evaporation of the upper notes accelerates, and heavy base chords appear too sharply, the expert explained.
