Sobyanin ordered the holding of an international book fair

The 38th Moscow International Book Fair will be held in Pavilion No. 57 at VDNH from September 3-7. The corresponding decree was signed by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.

Hundreds of events will be held at the fair, including book presentations, meetings with authors, and workshops for children. International congresses of translators of fiction are also planned, which take place every two years, according to the website. mos.ru .

Public organizations, creative unions, foundations, libraries and budgetary institutions will participate on preferential terms. Special stands will also be provided to university publishing houses, literary magazines, regional and small Russian publishing houses, and publishing houses from the CIS countries.

The Moscow International Book Fair is Russia's oldest and largest book forum. Hundreds of publishing houses and bookselling enterprises from many regions of Russia take part in it. In 2024, more than 1.5 million people attended the fair's events in person and online.
