Rosstandart warned about the risk of battery overheating in the Volvo XC60 and XC90
280 Volvo XC60 and XC90 vehicles sold between 2020 and 2022 are being recalled in Russia due to the risk of overheating of the battery. This was announced on July 25 by the press service of Rosstandart. The event program is presented by ViSiAr, which is the official representative of Volvo in the Russian market.
The reason for the recall is a feature of the high-voltage battery, which can lead to overheating of the cells in a situation when it is fully charged. In rare cases, overheating of a high-voltage battery can cause a thermal effect, the report says.
Owners of the recalled Volvo XC60 and XC90 were urged to contact dealers and arrange a visit time. The battery cells will be checked on the machines. If a deviation is detected, the defective elements will be replaced.
Earlier that day, Kia Russia and CIS announced a recall of almost 79.9 thousand Kia Sportage vehicles sold between 2010 and 2015. The reason for the recall was the need to replace the multi-fuse of the HECU electronic hydraulic control unit in order to reduce the nominal value for better protection of circuits.
