Recall of almost 80 thousand Kia cars announced in Russia

"Kia Russia and CIS has announced a recall of almost 79.9 thousand Kia Sportage vehicles sold between 2010 and 2015. This was announced by Rosstandart on July 25.

The reason for the recall was the need to replace the multi-fuse of the HECU electronic hydraulic control unit in order to reduce the nominal value for better circuit protection. The Sportage (SLe), manufactured at the Kia Slovakia plant, was recalled.

The owners of the recalled vehicles were urged to contact the nearest dealership and arrange the time of the visit. All work for them will be free of charge.

The last Kia recall in Russia was announced on June 2. 55.35 thousand vehicles (Sorento crossovers, Soul hatchbacks and Cerato sedans) participate in this service campaign. Rosstandart reported that these vehicles may have a short circuit on the printed circuit board of the hydraulic electronic control unit (HECU), which is located in the engine compartment.
