- FT spoke about the condition of the "eurotroika" for the postponement of sanctions against Iran
The Eurotroika countries (Great Britain, Germany, France) are ready to grant Iran a postponement of sanctions if the Islamic Republic agrees to resume dialogue with the United States and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). This was reported on July 25 by The Financial Times (FT) newspaper, citing sources.
"European states are ready to grant Iran a postponement of the approaching deadline for the restoration of international sanctions if it agrees to conditions such as the resumption of negotiations with Washington and cooperation with UN nuclear inspectors," the publication says.
According to the newspaper, a delay of several months is implied, and its provision depends on the decision of the UN Security Council.
According to Sky News Arabia, new negotiations between Iran and the Eurotroika on the nuclear program are scheduled for Geneva on July 27.
On July 24, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said that the Islamic Republic intends to resume nuclear negotiations with the United States, provided that the American side accepts Iran's rights under the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT). In addition, Gharibabadi said the day before that he wanted to be sure that the United States would no longer strike at him.
