- The families of the victims from the Khabarovsk Territory in the crash of the AN-24 will be paid 1 million rubles each.
The families of residents of the Khabarovsk Territory who died in the crash of the An-24 aircraft in the Amur region will receive compensation in the amount of 1 million rubles. This was announced on July 24 by the governor of the region Dmitry Demeshin.
"We will pay 1 million rubles to the families of each of the residents of the Khabarovsk Territory who died in the crash of the An-24. Starting tomorrow, three days of mourning have been declared in the region — flags will be lowered at half—mast throughout the region as a sign of our sorrow," he wrote on his Telegram channel.
On behalf of the governor, Konstantin Kravtsov, Minister of Transport and Road Management of the Khabarovsk Territory, was sent to Tynda. In addition, a helicopter with rescuers flew to the scene of the tragedy. A headquarters has also been set up in the region to promptly provide assistance to the families of the victims.
"We will provide all necessary assistance and pay for travel to the relatives of those who died in the plane crash," Demeshin added.
The head of the Russian Ministry of Transport, Andrey Nikitin, in turn, called for full support to the families of the deceased passengers and crew members. The causes of the disaster will be determined by a commission of the Interstate Aviation Committee with the participation of representatives of the Federal Air Transport Agency. The investigation is conducted within the framework of the current legislation.
"We need to focus on providing comprehensive support to the relatives of the deceased passengers and crew of the AN-24: flight to the accident site, insurance and social benefits, medical and psychological assistance if necessary. All these measures should be taken as quickly as possible," Nikitin is quoted as saying on the Telegram channel of the Russian Ministry of Transport.
The AN-24 passenger plane crashed on the same day 15 km from Tynda in the Amur region. The aircraft was en route Khabarovsk – Blagoveshchensk – Tynda and stopped communicating. Later, rescuers reached the crash site. A regional emergency regime was introduced in the Amur Region and three days of mourning were declared. The Investigative Committee of Russia confirmed the deaths of all those on board the aircraft.
A criminal case has been opened into the loss of communication with the crashed plane. A technical malfunction and a human factor are considered as a version of the incident.
On the same day, it became known that the crashed plane had been involved in four aviation incidents since 2018. Izvestia also reported that the aviation authorities had maintenance claims against Angara Airlines, which owns the crashed aircraft. Investigators are working in the company's office.
