Iran intends to resume nuclear negotiations with the United States, provided that the American side accepts the rights of the Islamic Republic under the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT). This was announced on July 24 by Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi.

"Negotiations can resume if Tehran's rights under the NPT are recognized," the Reuters news agency quoted him as saying.

It is noted that if Washington builds trusting relations with Tehran and guarantees that negotiations will not lead to a resumption of hostilities against Iran, the Islamic Republic is ready to return to dialogue on its own initiative.

Yesterday, Gharibabadi said that Iran is ready to return to negotiations with the United States on its nuclear program, but wants to be sure that no new American strikes will follow. It was noted that distrust is one of the reasons why Iran refuses to resume dialogue.

At the same time, Sky News Arabia TV channel reported on July 20 that Iran would hold talks on its nuclear program with the Eurotroika, which includes France, Great Britain and Germany, in Geneva on July 27.
