The new flagship seven-seat crossover Moskvich 8 has started arriving at dealerships. This was reported by the Autostat agency on July 24.
The Moskvich 8 is presented in three trim levels, the basic version of the model was estimated at 2.98 million rubles. At the average performance level, the crossover costs from 3.21 million rubles, and at the maximum — from 3.37 million rubles.
The crossover is equipped with a 1.5 petrol turbo engine with a capacity of 174 hp (280 Nm) in combination with a seven-speed robotic dual-clutch transmission, front-wheel drive only. Acceleration from zero to 100 km / h takes 7.8 s. The length of the model is 4825 mm with a wheelbase of 2830 mm.
According to Nikolai Ivanov, director of the new car department at Rolf, the Moskvich 8 will not be easy in the most competitive segment of the Russian market, where many models of Chinese brands are represented. He will not become a volume-forming model within the brand, and his share will be about 15%, the specialist predicts.
On June 5, Vadim Ponomarev, Director of product engineering at MAZ Moskvich, told Izvestia that the Moscow plant was considering launching production of cars with a hybrid power plant in 2027-2028. They will complement the company's product line, which already includes both models with internal combustion engines and purely electric ones.
