The mother of the co-pilot of the An-24 plane that crashed in the Amur region, Kirill P., told Izvestia on July 24 that they had not yet been informed of any details about the disaster. She had last spoken to her son the day before, he had a day off.
"Now we are also clarifying whether something happened there," she said.
The woman added that her son was scheduled to board the flight today, Thursday. She is still not completely sure if he was on board the aircraft.
"Yesterday he had a day off, we talked with him. He said that "tomorrow he will work," that is, today," the mother said.
The AN-24 passenger plane crashed earlier that day 15 km from Tynda in the Amur region. The aircraft, following the Khabarovsk – Blagoveshchensk –Tynda route, stopped communicating. Later, its burning fuselage was found on the ground.
According to preliminary data, all those on board the passenger plane were killed. Previously, there were 49 people on board — 38 adults, five children and six crew members. A criminal case has been opened into the loss of communication with the crashed plane. A technical malfunction and a human factor are considered as a version of the incident.
