- Mishustin noted the high share of national currencies in the settlements of Russia and Belarus
Russia and Belarus carry out over 90% of mutual settlements in national currencies. This was announced on Thursday, July 24, by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at a meeting with Belarusian Prime Minister Alexander Turchin.
"We already carry out over 90% of payments in national currencies. All this helps us protect our trade and investments from the negative external environment," Mishustin said.
He noted that despite the sanctions pressure from the collective West, economic cooperation between the two countries continues to strengthen. According to Mishustin, the share of machinery, equipment and high-tech products in the trade turnover between Russia and Belarus is growing.
On July 16, it was reported that exports of agricultural products to Belarus from Russia increased by 20%. About 24% of export revenue this year is accounted for by products of the food and processing industry, 22% — products of the fat and oil industry, 10% — meat products, 6% — fish and seafood, 4% — cereals. According to the federal center, the potential of Russian agricultural supplies to Belarus by 2030 exceeds $3.2 billion.
