Traffic police announced an intensified raid on drivers in Moscow
The Moscow State Traffic Inspectorate will conduct a three-day enhanced raid on the territory of the capital to check drivers for intoxication. The agency announced this in its Telegram channel on July 24.
The preventive event will take place from July 25 to July 27. The State Traffic Inspectorate called on all road users not to remain indifferent to the problem of drunk driving and promptly inform the police about drivers who behave inappropriately on the road and pose a danger to themselves and others.
"We appeal to drivers with a convincing request not to get behind the wheel while drunk. Use taxi services or public transport. Do not endanger your own life or the lives of other road users," the Moscow traffic police noted.
On July 22, at the plenary session, the State Duma adopted in the second and third readings a bill to increase a number of existing duties for car owners and introduce new ones. For example, the cost of issuing a driver's license will double and amount to 4 thousand rubles for an old-style license and 6 thousand for a new one. Obtaining a vehicle passport will increase in price from 800 rubles to 1.2 thousand rubles.
