US President Donald Trump would like to make his own decisions on the introduction of anti-Russian sanctions. This was announced on July 23 by White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt.

"He was deeply involved in this conflict from the very beginning, and therefore the president wants to reserve any decisions regarding sanctions for himself — this is his authority and right," she said.

At the same time, Leavitt stressed that Trump is constantly in contact with allies in the US Senate, including Senator Lindsey Graham (listed as a terrorist and extremist in the Russian Federation).

On July 14, Trump announced that the United States would impose 100% secondary duties on Russia if a settlement of the conflict in Ukraine was not reached within 50 days. The American leader also added that he was "very dissatisfied with the Russian position" on the Ukrainian issue.
