Poland has extended its border controls with Germany and Lithuania for 30 days. This was announced on July 23 by the head of the Polish Interior Ministry, Tomasz Semoniak, on the TVN24 channel on YouTube.

"We have introduced border control for 30 days," he said.

It is noted that this deadline was chosen due to the specifics of the provisions of the border code of the Schengen area. The first solution is to establish border control for exactly that many days.

The official clarified that these restrictions are planned to be extended in the future.

On July 1, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that the country would introduce temporary border controls with Germany and Lithuania from July 7 due to the large number of migrants. He pointed out that Warsaw's patience with migration issues is "running out."

Later, on July 7, the Polish army launched a special operation "Safe West" on the border with Germany to strengthen security in response to migration threats. It was noted that a total of 5,000 people were planned to be involved in the operation.
